PRP Procedure: Doctors will take a small amount of a patient’s blood, centrifuge it to yield a concentration of platelets and inject it back into injured tissue. The idea is to supplement the growth factors and plasma cells in a person’s blood with a concentrated dose in order to speed up healing of, say, a sore knee or a scarred Achilles’ tendon
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) skin Regeneration therapy is the latest technology, anti-aging procedure. The treatment uses the patient’s own blood and poses no risk of allergy. Common PRP rejuvenation treatments
The most common conditions for PRP therapy include: fine wrinkles around the eyes, nasolabial grooves, wrinkles on the lips, acne marks, wrinkles on the forehead, wrinkles on the neck, bags and dark circles under the eyes and loose and saggy skin.
The components of the PRP treatment
PRP Skin Regeneration Therapy uses components called platelets contained in the blood. Platelets play a role in stopping bleeding and repairing damaged blood vessels and cells in the body. Platelets contain substances called growth factors that activate and rejuvenate cells in the body. The growth factors, when released, induce the production of collagen and generation of new capillaries to rejuvenate the skin.
The prp procedure steps are as following: First the blood is collected. Second a specific filter and a centrifuge are used to prepare platelet-rich plasma (PRP) containing autologous white blood cells. Last platelet-rich plasma (PRP) with autologous white blood cells is injected into the area of concern. It takes about 30 to 40 minutes from blood collection to injection.
When will PRP effects take place?
Another feature of the therapy is that the patient will experience a natural change in the operative site and minimal discomfort because beneficial effects gradually
occur after about two weeks of therapy.
